Flautarra

Both solo artists in their own right, together Stephen Reck and David Cuthbert form the exciting new duo Flautarra.

Flautarra is committed to presenting exciting programmes of guitar and flute music from around the world exploring music from Bach and Corelli to more contemporary composers such as Edward McGuire and David Fennessy.

David Cuthbert attended the Royal Academy of Music from 1997-2002 where he graduated with a first class B Mus (Hons) and PG Dip Distinction. Among the many flute awards David has won are the Chris Taylor Flute Prize, AFP Flute Prize, Sir James Caird Traveling Scholarship and was a Leverhulme chamber music fellow at the Royal Academy of Music playing in the Southbank Sinfonia. He has since played guest principal with the Northern Sinfonia, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and toured with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also played concertos in France, London and at the Edinburgh fringe festival. Most recently David has played with the Britten Sinfonia.
